1. Introduction

InstaClaw (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website getinstaclaw.com and the InstaClaw service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service to deploy and manage OpenClaw AI assistant instances.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up using Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This information is used to create and manage your InstaClaw account.

Google API Data

With your explicit consent, InstaClaw may request access to the following Google services:

  • Gmail (gmail.modify): To read, draft, and send emails on your behalf when you ask your AI assistant to manage your inbox.
  • Google Calendar (calendar.events): To read and manage calendar events when you ask your AI assistant to check or create appointments.
  • Google Drive (drive.readonly): To read documents and files when you ask your AI assistant to reference your Drive content.

We only access Google data when you explicitly ask your AI assistant to do so. We do not perform background scanning, indexing, or bulk data collection. Each access is triggered by a direct user request through the chat interface.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or banking details. We retain transaction records (amount, date, credit balance) for billing purposes.

Usage Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage analytics (page views, button clicks) to improve the service. No personal data or Google API data is sent to analytics services.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate your account and provide the InstaClaw service
  • To deploy and manage your personal OpenClaw AI assistant instance
  • To process your requests through the AI assistant (e.g., reading emails, checking calendar, drafting replies) — only when you initiate these actions
  • To process payments and manage your credit balance
  • To send transactional emails related to your account
  • To improve and maintain the service

4. Data Storage and Retention

We do not store your Google data. Emails, calendar events, and Drive files are fetched in real-time when your AI assistant needs them and are processed in-memory. We do not maintain copies, build profiles, or create indexes of your Google data.

Your AI assistant instance runs in an isolated container on Railway. Conversation history with your assistant may be stored within your instance for context continuity, but this data is tied to your individual deployment and is not accessible by other users or by InstaClaw staff.

Account information (name, email) and billing records are stored in our database for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data with the following third-party services, solely to operate InstaClaw:

  • AI Model Providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google): Your messages and fetched Google data are sent to the AI model you selected to generate responses. Each provider has their own privacy policy governing data handling.
  • Railway: Hosts your AI assistant instance in an isolated container.
  • Stripe: Processes payments securely.
  • PostHog: Receives anonymized usage analytics only.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google data to any third party.

6. Google API Services User Data Policy

InstaClaw's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

  • We only use Google data to provide the features you explicitly request
  • We do not use Google data for advertising or marketing purposes
  • We do not transfer Google data to third parties except as described above for service operation
  • We do not use Google data to build user profiles for advertising
  • Humans do not read your Google data unless required for security purposes, with your consent, or to comply with applicable law

7. Your Rights and Controls

  • Revoke Google access: You can disconnect Google at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
  • Delete your account: Contact us at [email protected] to request complete account and data deletion.
  • Suspend your assistant: You can suspend or delete your AI assistant instance at any time from the dashboard.
  • Data portability: Contact us to request an export of your account data.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your AI assistant runs in an isolated container with encrypted connections. OAuth tokens are stored securely and encrypted at rest. We do not store Google API data on our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

InstaClaw is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
